Modernization of plants and control systems
A plant with ten or fifteen years of operation is not necessarily due for replacement. It becomes so when maintainability starts to degrade: PLCs out of support, supervision software nobody knows how to modify anymore, components with critical lead times or out of production. Retrofit is the technical answer to this situation — before it turns into unplanned downtime.
The starting point is always an assessment of the existing plant: hardware, control software, component condition and available documentation. Intervening without a clear picture of what is installed is the fastest way to introduce new problems. Only after the assessment is the intervention defined, with concrete priorities and timelines.
The work covers both layers of the plant. On the hardware and electrical side — cabinets, wiring, actuators, components — we operate with our specialized partners. On the software side, we migrate obsolete PLCs to modern platforms, renew legacy HMIs and SCADA systems, and integrate sensors and IIoT technologies. Where needed, we also handle complete electrical and mechanical design. The platforms we work on are Beckhoff TwinCAT, Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Allen-Bradley, Fanuc and OPC/UA — the same environments as our industrial software development.
